Marathi cinema has been a platform for several artistes to showcase their talent and it will serve the same purpose this time for documentary-maker Rohit Arya, who has turned director for the upcoming issue-based movie 'Dabba Gul.' I had carried out discussions with several directors to translate the vision behind the movie on the silver screen, but I felt that none of them were able to interpret what was going on in my head.
So, I decided to step into the directors shoes myself and make this movie, said Rohit.
The movie is inspired by real life incidents and is an extension of a documentary that Rohit had made in 2013. The movie is an extension of a project called 'Lets Change,' which veered around school children coming together to help create a cleaner country. In fact, it also earned accolades from the Gujarat Government and can also be identified as one of the inspirations behind the
Swachh Bharat campaign, said the director and added, Dabba Gul goes one step ahead to support the voices for setting up toilet blocks in villages.
